Credit Where the Software Earns It

Nobody in this category ships a nicer console than ZenBusiness. Formation status, filed documents, and incoming agent mail all land in one dashboard that behaves like something a designer actually thought about, and finishing a task there does not require reading a statute first. Owners who want a single console for company admin, with the agent appointment sitting in it as one item among many, are buying something coherent. Pretending that choice is silly would waste your time and ours.

The Number That Repeats Is $199

Bought on its own, detached from any formation package, ZenBusiness agent service advertises an opening term of $99 plus state fees. Every renewal after that runs $199 a year. Both figures are published, both are accurate, and only the second one describes what a Colorado entity actually pays across its life.

That distinction is not a quibble about marketing. Colorado wants an agent listed for every year the company stays registered, and the state checks in annually while it waits: your periodic report comes due in your anniversary month, costs $25, and gets filed through the Secretary of State's online system inside a window that opens two months early and closes two months late. Each of those years carries an agent invoice alongside the report. Price the arrangement at the number that recurs, not the one that appears once.

Notice the tail on the opening figure, too. "Plus state fees" means whatever filings travel with your order get added on top, so the advertised figure and the debited figure part company at checkout.

Four hundred dollars over five years for a duty that reads the same in both columns. Broken down annually the gap is $100, which is exactly four Colorado periodic reports, and nothing about the underlying job changes between the first invoice and the second: hold a physical address in the state, be there during business hours, take delivery when somebody serves your company.

What the $99 Column Actually Contains

• $99 up front, $99 at renewal. No second rate is parked behind the first one.

The paperwork is a Statement of Change, submitted inside the Secretary of State's web portal, and there is nothing to print or post because this state does not issue paper versions of its business filings. Since the submission affirms that your incoming agent has agreed to serve, the replacement has to be signed up before you open the form; done in that order the appointment passes from one company to the next without your record ever showing a blank agent line.
