Colorado Agent for Out-of-State Telehealth Providers
For $99 a year, get a Colorado agent with a registered address on file, same-day scanning of legal documents, and compliance reminders before state deadlines.
If you're credentialed in another state and want to see patients who are physically in Colorado over telehealth, Colorado now has a registration path for you. C.R.S. § 12-30-124, added by SB 24-141, applies on and after January 1, 2026. One of its conditions is that you designate an agent in Colorado who can be served with process, using a form from the Division of Professions and Occupations.
CO Registered Agent.org can be that agent for $99 a year.

What a Registered Provider Must Do
- Practice to Colorado's standards. The same rules as in-person care apply, from prescribing and identity verification to informed consent, records and privacy.
- Disclose your location. Tell each patient where you are and that you have no physical location in Colorado.
- Plan for emergencies. Keep a written emergency protocol, stay connected during an emergency on a live session until help arrives or the situation resolves, and maintain a list of nearby hospitals, urgent care and crisis services where the patient lives.
- Report within five business days. New restrictions on your credential, discipline taken or pending anywhere, and malpractice judgments, settlements or arbitration awards paid for you.
- Stay remote. No Colorado office and no in-person care here without the full Colorado credential.
- No controlled substances. A registered provider can't prescribe them.
The registration renews, expires and can be reinstated under Colorado's general rules for regulated professions (C.R.S. § 12-20-202).
Where the Agent Comes In
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereYour designated agent is the Colorado address where a lawsuit, subpoena or regulator's notice about your telehealth work gets delivered. Since registered providers can't keep an office in Colorado, that designation is often the only Colorado address tied to you.

FAQ
Does registering my clinicians register my company?
No. This section covers individual providers. A business entity operating in Colorado files separately with the Secretary of State; see foreign registration in Colorado.
Is Colorado's registration permanent?
No. It's subject to renewal and expiration under C.R.S. § 12-20-202, like other Colorado professional credentials.
Can a registered provider prescribe?
Prescribing follows Colorado's rules for your profession, but controlled substances are off-limits under this registration.
